The frigid winds howled with an uncharacteristic ferocity as the Coalition trekked toward their destination. Led by Lieutenant Alan Kessinger, shields held aloft to dissuade the ice tumbling down from the clouds as the snow crunched beneath their boots. Sir Lloyd followed the Lieutenant being accompanied by the Magus Avrant with Private Cohmnall Dempsy in tow. As the ice battered down against the team that set out, Corporal Cassandra Payne served as the party’s primary doctor. Imriel Moonscar and Kitra Veni'maev struggled along with Corporal Payne.
On their approach, the Coalition battled against the bitter rimebound winds; their destination harrowed by unnatural weather. As they arrived at the eye of the storm, they spotted a troll primalist who appeared to be the conjurer of the storm. A powerful ice elemental was conjured by the Troll, hastily sent to slow the Coalition’s advance. They were all lamentably worn from the journey up from Freyharbor and it showed in their fighting. The average precision and prowess had dulled for the members while Sir Lloyd remained strong. While Lieutenant Kessinger tried to keep spirits high he began to notice the Magi Avrant and Private Dempsy were beginning to become worn down.
With the clattering of ice shards arriving to their end, the Coalition raced up the snowy hillside to take on the troll primalist who was creating this tempest. The air was so frigid it seemed to cut to the heart of each person's mind and body. No amount of garment seemed to keep them warm and as they crested the hill they were greeted by a terrible sight. Two horrid orbs with changing Afflicted citizens within, two massive and frost-imbued Frostfang worgen. Then shielded well was their target, the troll who had been creating immense trouble for Freyhabor as a whole.
The Coalition’s elements steeled themselves in the hailing of ice and destructive winds. Tossed by Frostfang worgen the members worked their hardest to combat their enemies and when things were becoming dire Lady Aedris Songheart arrived. She brought an element of surprise to the combat which assisted in refocusing the Coalition. Their wills steeled against the Frostfang worgen they were promptly dealt with though Sir Lloyd became trapped beneath one as the worgen fell. The shielding guarding the troll cracked and the battle against the creator of the storm began.
Avrant lay in the snow fading at the blood loss he’d sustained, a sense of urgency was pressed upon the Coalition’s members as the dismal reality began to set in. They were gravely wounded, many of them and their spirits were fading for the remaining fight. Private Dempsy’s gun jammed causing distress for the man and Kitra was tossed about by the weather as well as spikes. Lieutenant Kessinger was battered by the troll’s attacks, leg, and shoulder injured. Sir Lloyd was able to escape the worgen’s corpse after a time and in the end, it was Corporal Payne’s sharp reflexes that took the troll down with a resounding crack from her rifle.
The orbs cracked, everyone seemed to release the breath they were holding and the wounded were cared for. The rest who were well enough gathered up the Afflicted citizens from the orbs and retreated back to Freyhabor, their mission complete. Not without great cost though, finished nonetheless.
